Many inspiration dog stories have catapulted in the minds of dog lovers across the world through the years. Stories such as the amazing recovery of dogs, finding their forever home, and fulfilling their purpose have infiltrated the sphere of news as of late.
There are also dogs who rose to fame because of their innate talent and cute faces. With the use of social media such as Instagram, some dogs are becoming social media influencers in their capacity.
As we progress to be a world where we are more appreciative of dogs, people tend to become more prune towards how they treat pooches.
But while this may be the case, there are still some dogs who are unfortunate because of the bad luck they experienced. Yet, even if the world hated some of these dogs, they still find ways to bounce back from these setbacks.
Rowan, a mixed breed dog, sure knows how this feel.
Two years ago, the three-year-old dog was supposed to be put down because his old owners did not like him. Fast forward today, had Rowan’s life been sentenced to death, he would not have achieved what he achieved.
The dog successfully hurdled all tests to become a licensed search and rescue dog. After several test and training, Rowan is now employed by the Search and Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA) in Ireland.
Using a rather peculiar technique, this search and rescue group employs air scenting to search for missing persons. They do this through dogs, including Rowan.
SARDA Ireland’s Sheelagh O’Malley said that Rowan is the first ever trained dog on the east coast in the last 20 years. While at first Rowan was shy, the dog was able to overcome it and become the best version of himself as a search and rescue dog.
SARDA’s main line of work is searching for victims during calamities and disasters.
