Dogs make great companions for humans who have disabilities. They help with chores, and their senses are invaluable in times when emergencies occur. However, dogs too do share friendship with their fellows. In this story, we’ll get to see how a tiny golden retriever lifts his best friend and acts as the eyes of the other.
Charlie, an 11-year-old golden retriever, lost both eyes because of glaucoma. The left eye got removed in 2016 and the right one the next year. Well, so far he has adjusted to his condition but still, he’s having a hard time living a life in darkness.
Charlie had become very limited.
It turns out that with a significant downfall comes the sweetest reward. And in this chapter of Charlie’s life that would be the arrival of a tiny pup, a golden retriever too like himself but much giddy and naughtier with a heart.
The nugget’s name is Maverick, and he came on New Year. Charlie didn’t have any particular first impression and seemed to not care of an addition to their family. But as times passed by, as they played, a special connection began to spark.
The little one noticed that his buddy loses toys sometimes so what he does is he would pick it up and put in front of Charlie to re-engage him. The bond grew even more as the tiny one initiates to be Charlie’s guide.
They were inseparable, and their tandem reached thousands after they got featured by WeRateDogs getting an incredible rating of 14/10.
How nice is it to have found fun and comfort with each other and that’s what these dogs show to many. A disability may limit you, but it draws you to the ones who would sincerely be with you in your battle!
